A/C Performance Testing

1. Connect a suitable manifold gauge set and tachometer.
2. Set controls of air conditioner as follows:
a. Air conditioning switch to A/C On position.
b. Place mode selection lever in Face position.
c. Place temperature control lever in Max. cooling position.
d. Place air selection lever in Recirculation position.
e. Place blower switch to high position.
3. Start engine, then adjust idle to 1000 RPM with compressor clutch engaged.
4. Vehicle doors should be closed, windows up and engine should be at normal operating temperature.
5. Insert a thermometer in the left center vent and allow engine to run for 20 minutes.

6. Note discharge temperature and compare with charts shown. Reading should be taken with compressor clutch engaged.
