Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
1. Remove turbocharger, refer to Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Turbocharger/Service and Repair.Fig. 19 Exhaust Manifold Replacement. DOHC Turbocharged:
2. Remove exhaust manifold in sequence shown.

3. Install exhaust manifold in reverse sequence shown, noting the following:
a. Torque exhaust manifold nuts marked A to 22 lb-ft.
b. Torque exhaust manifold nuts marked B to 34-38 lb-ft.
c. Back off exhaust manifold nuts marked B to a torque value of 7 lb-ft
d. Torque exhaust manifold nuts marked B to 21-22 lb-ft
e. Install exhaust manifold stay with it resting on exhaust manifold, fit it along with exhaust manifold over the studs.
f. Torque exhaust manifold nuts marked C to 22 lb-ft.
g. Temporarily tighten turbocharger to exhaust manifold.
h. Torque nut marked D to 22 lb-ft.
i. Torque exhaust manifold nuts marked E and F to 34-38 lb-ft.
j. Back off exhaust manifold nuts marked E and F to a Torque value of 7 lb-ft
k. Torque exhaust manifold nuts marked E and F to 21-22 lb-ft.
