The steering column used on this model has been designed to be serviced as an assembly except for wiring, switches, shrouds and the steering wheel. Most steering column components can be serviced without removing the column from the vehicle.

The only other serviceable component is the steering column shaft coupler. If the coupler requires replacement due to a seized bearing, insufficient bearing staking or improper bearing seating, proceed as follows:

1. Remove steering column assembly as described under "Steering Column, Replace."
2. Remove spring pin from coupler and slide coupler from end of steering shaft. Ensure lower shaft coupler is supported during spring pin removal and installation to prevent bearing damage.
3. Reverse procedure to install.
