Door Ajar Lamp

CIRCUIT OPERATION
Power for the door ajar lamp is provided on circuit G5. Ground for the lamp is provided on circuit G0. This circuit connects between the message center and the Body Control Module (BCM).

The door ajar switches provide an input to the BCM indicating when the doors are ajar. There are four case grounded switches located in the door pillars. These switches are normally OPEN.

Circuit G74 is the input to the BCM for the right front, right rear and left rear doors. The G75 circuit is the input to the BCM for the left front door.

When a door is ajar a ground path is completed from the BCM, circuit G74 or G75, through the closed, switch to ground.

The BCM processes this signal and grounds circuit G0 illuminating the lamp in the message center.
