Arm/Disarm Switch: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION
There are two switches used to ARM and DISARM the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS). They are located in the left front and right front doors. Power for the switches is supplied on circuit G73 from the Body Control Module (BCM). This circuit is spliced and supplies voltage to both switches.

Both switches are normally OPEN. When the switch CLOSES it completes a path to ground on circuit Z1, which is the body ground, and terminates at the instrument panel left kick panel. The BCM monitors the G73 circuit and when when switch is grounded it activates the VTSS set or disarm procedure.
