Verification Test VER-2A - Cruise Control

Inspect the vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.

If another fault was read previously that has not been dealt with, return to TEST FC-1A and follow the path specified by the other fault.

If the powertrain control module has not been changed, do the following:

a. Connect the Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB) to the data link connector and erase faults.
b. With DRB, reset all values in adaptive memory.
c. Disconnect the DRB.

Ensure no other fault remains by doing the following:

a. If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, turn on the air conditioning and blower.
b. Drive the vehicle for at least five minutes and at some point attain a speed of 40 mph. Ensure the transmission shifts through all gears. Upon the completion of the road test, turn the engine off.
c. Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle for at least two minutes.
d. Turn the engine off.
e. Connect the DRB to the data link connector.
f. With the DRB read all fault messages.

If the repaired fault has reset, the repair Is not complete. Check all pertinent Technical Service Bulletins and return to TEST FC-1A if necessary.

If there is another fault, return to TEST FC-1A and follow the path specified by the other fault. If there are no faults, the repair is now complete.
