Malfunction Lamp / Indicator: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The AIR BAG warning lamp is the only point at which "symptoms" of a system malfunction can be observed by the customer.

Testing and Inspection

OPERATION
Illumination of the Airbag warning lamp is controlled by the Airbag Control Module (ACM). When the ACM detects a problem in the system it grounds circuit R41 and the lamp in the instrument cluster is illuminated.
