Instrument Cluster / Carrier: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove cluster bezel as follows:
a. On column shift models, place shift lever in Neutral position.
b. On models equipped with tilt column, adjust tilt to lowest position.

c. On all models, pull cluster bezel rearward to disengage 11 retaining clips, then remove cluster bezel.
3. On column shift models, proceed as follows:
a. Remove lower steering column cover.
b. Place gear selector in neutral or park position.
c. Remove guide tube from behind fuse block and disconnect cable eyelet from column attaching arm.






d. Release lock bar on column insert, squeeze legs together and remove from column.
e. Secure insert and cable guide out of the way.
4. On all models, remove rear window defogger and radio bezel.
5. Remove upper steering column cover.
6. Remove four screws attaching cluster housing to base panel.
7. Pull cluster rearward then disconnect two wiring harnesses.
8. Remove cluster from vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
