Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

1. Remove transaxle assembly as described in appropriate section.
2. Remove flywheel or flex plate from rear of crankshaft.
3. Pry out rear seal with a suitable tool. Use care not to nick or damage crankshaft flange seal surface or retainer bore.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Use seal pilot tool No. C-4681, or equivalent, when installing seal.
b. Lightly coat seal outside dimension with Loctite Stud N' Bearing Mount or equivalent compound.
