Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
1. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under "Precautions".
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain coolant into a suitable container.
3. Remove air cleaner and disconnect all vacuum and fuel lines and electrical connectors from carburetor or throttle body.
4. Disconnect throttle linkage, then remove power steering pump drive belt.
5. Disconnect power brake vacuum hose from manifold, if equipped.
6. Disconnect hoses from water crossover, then raise and support vehicle and disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
7. Remove power steering pump and position aside. Remove intake manifold support bracket.
8. Remove Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube and the intake manifold retaining screws.
9. Lower vehicle and remove intake manifold.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
