Oil Pump Replacement

1. Remove oil pan.
2. Remove screw securing pick-up tube to oil pump, then the pick-up tube.

3. Remove two screws securing oil pump to cylinder block assembly, then the pump.
4. Apply suitable sealant to pump to block interface.
5. Lubricate oil pump rotor and shaft and the drive gear.
6. Turn crankshaft and intermediate shaft until markings on sprockets align. Slot in oil pump shaft must be parallel to center line of crankshaft when intermediate shaft and crankshaft are properly timed.
7. Install pump full depth and rotate back and forth slightly to ensure proper positioning and alignment through full surface contact of pump and block machined interface surfaces. Pump must be held in fully seated position while installing screws.
8. Tighten attaching screws to specifications.
