Supporting Engine

SUPPORTING ENGINE

To allow removal of cradle module assembly from the vehicle, it will be necessary to support the engine and transaxle assembly using engine support fixture No. 7137 or equivalent.

1. Mount fixture across engine compartment.
2. Mount nylon webbing material, to the following locations.
a. Remove bolt attaching A/C compressor bracket to front of engine. Install webbing material hook on A/C compressor bolt then install bolt and tighten.
b. Loosen, do not remove, generator to engine bolt, remove spacer between generator and engine. Install webbing material hook between generator and engine then install and tighten bolt.
c. Remove electronic ignition coil and mounting bracket bolt from rear of engine. Install webbing material hook on bracket bolt and re-install and tighten bolt. Route webbing material between fuel injector rail and valve cover.

d. Mount remaining piece of webbing material to threaded hole on back of left cylinder head using a suitable bolt.
3. Securely attach pieces of webbing material to hook on engine holding fixture. Tighten hook on fixture until all slack is removed from all webbing material.
