The transmission wiring harness may short circuit due to rub through from contact with the right side steering tie rod. Shorting of the harness may cause electrical system malfunctions, including engine die out, inoperative back up lights, an inoperative starter interlock system and/or transmission shifting into second gear (default). To correct this condition, the existing wiring trough must be removed and a revised bracket and convolute sleeve must be installed.
