C. Replace Lower Seat Tracks

1. Turn the seat adjuster assembly over and place it on the bench with the four feet facing upward.

2. Remove the drive block screws from both lower track assemblies (Figure 7). Discard the screws.

3. Slide both lower track assemblies rearward off the seat adjuster (Figure 7). Discard the track assemblies.

4. Turn the black plastic outboard drive block forward slightly to free the horizontal stop washer (Figure 8).

NOTE:
DO NOT remove the steel inboard drive block. The track can not be synchronized if this is removed.

5. Push the stop washer forward and remove the retaining ring from the end of the horizontal lead screw with needle nose pliers (Figure 8).

6. Remove the stop washer and plastic drive block from the horizontal lead screw (Figure 8). Discard the drive block, stop washer and retaining ring.

7. Install the supplied steel drive block onto the lead screw (Figure 8).

8. Install the supplied stop washer on the lead screw (Figure 8).

9. Install the new retaining ring into the groove in the screw with needle nose pliers (Figure 8).

10. Rotate the drive block toward the stop washer until it contacts the washer.

11. Note the location of the drive block bolt hole. The orientation of the block is critical (Figure 8). IF THE DRIVE BLOCK bolt hole is not within approximately 30° of vertical (i.e. pointing down or sideways), remove the retaining ring, stop washer and drive block and then reinstall them again with the drive block orientation rotated 180° from the initial installation.

NOTE:
The drive block has several thread starts. It must be aligned properly to ensure proper seat track operation.

12. Place a small amount of grease on the stop washer and retaining ring.

13. Press the plastic spacer onto the non-threaded area of the opposite end of the lead screw from the stop washer (Figure 9).

14. Install the supplied lower track assemblies onto the seat adjuster from the rear (Figure 10). Make sure that the plastic slides are secured to the track prior to installing the track assemblies.

NOTE:
The flat risers are on the rear of the track and the angled risers are on the front of the track toed inward toward the center of the seat (Figure 10).

15. Align the large hole in the center of the lower tracks with the shoulders of the drive blocks (Figure 11). Tap the lower track assembly with a rubber mallet (if necessary).

16. Secure the track assemblies to the steel drive blocks with the supplied drive block bolts. Tighten the drive block bolts to 240 in-lbs (27 Nm).

NOTE:
Place a finger through the rectangular hole in the upper track to hold the drive block in place while tightening the bolt.
