CYLINDER HEAD OFF ENGINE

1. Using valve spring compressor tool No. 4682 or equivalent, compress valve spring enough to remove and install valve bead locks, Fig. 14.

CYLINDER HEAD ON ENGINE


1. Rotate crankshaft until piston is at TDC on compression stroke.
2. Apply 90-100 psi of compressed air into spark plug hole of valve being removed.
3. Using valve spring compressor tool No. 4683 or equivalent tool, compress valve spring enough to remove valve stem locks.
4. Remove valve spring and spring seat.
5. Remove valve seal.
