Electronic Vehicle Information Center - Description






DESCRIPTION





The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) features a driver-interactive display. The display is located in the middle of the instrument cluster between the speedometer and tachometer. This system conveniently allows the driver to select a variety of useful information by pressing the push buttons of an EVIC switch mounted on the left spoke of the steering wheel. The EVIC displays information related to the following:

- Audio Mode Display
- Compass Display
- Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) - on 6.7 liter diesel engine models only.
- Navigation System Displays - if the vehicle is so equipped.
- Outside Temperature Display
- Park Assist System - if the vehicle is so equipped.
- Personal Settings - also known as customer programmable features.
- System Status
- Tire Pressure Monitor System - if the vehicle is so equipped.
- Trip Computer Functions
- U-Connect(TM) Hands-Free Communication System Displays - if the vehicle is so equipped.
- Warning Message Displays

The EVIC system includes the following components:

- Ambient Temperature Sensor
- Electronic Overhead Module
- EVIC Switch
- Instrument Cluster
- Remote Compass Module

The EVIC display is part of the ElectroMechanical Instrument Cluster (EMIC) (also known as the Cab Compartment Node/CCN) and is not serviced as a separate component. If the EVIC display is damaged or ineffective, the entire EMIC unit must be replaced.
