B1668-REVERSE LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH
- When Monitored:
With the Reverse Lamps Activated.
- Set Condition:
The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) detects a short to voltage on the (L1) Backup Lamp Feed circuit.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all TIPM DTCs.
3. Shift the transmission into REVERSE.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display DTC B1668-REVERSE LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. (L1) BACKUP LAMP FEED CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
1. Shift the transmission into PARK/NEUTRAL.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Disconnect the TIPM C8 harness connector.
4. Disconnect the Right Tail Stop/Turn Lamp harness connector.
5. Disconnect the Left Tail Stop/Turn Lamp harness connector.
6. Turn the ignition on.
7. Measure the voltage between ground and the (L1) Backup Lamp Feed circuit.
Is the voltage greater than 10.0 volts?
Yes
- Repair the short to voltage in the (L1) Backup Lamp Feed circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the TIPM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
