Removal







REMOVAL

WARNING: Review safety precautions and warnings in this group before performing this procedure Warning and Caution. Failure to follow the warnings and cautions may result in serious or fatal injury.





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the rear refrigerant system Refrigerant System Recovery.
3. Remove the rear roof ducts Rear Distribution Ducts - Removal.
4. Disconnect the rear interior refrigerant lines from the rear expansion valve and remove and discard the O-ring seals Rear Plumbing - Front Interior Lines Rear Plumbing - Rear Interior Suction Line Rear Plumbing - Rear Interior Discharge Line Rear Plumbing - Interior Liquid Line Underbody Line.
5. Push back the insulation around the rear A/C expansion valve (2) and remove the two bolts (1) that secure the expansion valve to the rear evaporator tube tapping block.
6. Remove the rear A/C expansion valve from the rear A/C evaporator and remove and discard the O-ring seals.
7. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant lines and evaporator tube fittings and all of the expansion valve ports.
