Pick-Up Coil: Testing and Inspection

Testing For Short At Each Pickup Coil Terminal:

Pick-Up Coil Air Gap:

1. Disconnect the pick-up coil leads from the wiring harness. Check the wiring on the pick-up coils for signs of damage.
2. Using an ohmmeter check the resistance of the pick-up coils, it should be between 150 and 900 ohms. If the resistance of the pick-up coils is not within specifications replace it and adjust air gap.
