4 Wheel Drive
REMOVAL1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove skid plate from rear crossmember and transmission crossmember.
3. Position a suitable jack under transmission and raise rear of transmission slightly.
4. On models with automatic transmission, remove nuts and bolts holding transmission support spacer to insulator mounting plate.
5. On all models, remove engine rear support plate to insulator mounting plate bolts and nuts.
6. On models with manual transmission, remove insulator mounting plate to transfer case bolts and nuts.
7. On all models, remove insulator mounting bolts, spacers, washers and upper/lower insulators.
8. On models with automatic transmission, remove insulator mounting plate. Removing transmission support spacer from extension assembly and engine rear support bracket from transfer case, if necessary.
INSTALLATION
1. On models with automatic transmission, position engine rear support bracket to transfer case. Torque bolts to 30 ft. lbs.
2. Position transmission support spacer to extension assembly, torque bolts to 50 ft. lbs.
3. On all models, install insulator mounting plate, mounting bolts, spacers, washers and upper/lower insulators to rail assembly. torque mounting bolt to 150 ft. lbs.
4. On models with automatic transmission, proceed as follows:
a. Align engine rear support plate and transmission support spacer to insulator mounting plate.
b. Lower engine and transmission onto insulator mounting plate.
c. Install bolt and torque to 150 ft. lbs.
d. Torque engine rear support plate attaching bolts to 30 ft. lbs.
5. On models with manual transmission, proceed as follows:
a. Align transfer case with insulator mounting plate, then lower engine and transmission.
b. Install bolts and torque larger nuts to 150 ft. lbs, and smaller nuts to 30 ft. lbs.
6. On all models, install skid plate and lower vehicle.
