Rear Band Adjustment

Fig. 25 Low-reverse band adjusting screw location:

1. Raise vehicle, drain transmission and remove oil pan.
2. Loosen adjusting screw locknut and back off nut approximately five turns, Fig. 25. Check adjusting screw for free turning in lever.
3. Using an inch-pound torque wrench, torque band adjusting screw to 72 inch lbs.
4. Back off adjusting screw 2 turns on A-727 transmission models or 4 turns on A-904, A-998 and A-999 transmission models.
5. Hold adjusting screw in place and torque locknut to specifications.
6. Install oil pan and add transmission fluid.
