7 Testing the Set Switch

1. Connect diagnostic readout box to the engine harness connector.
2. Turn ignition On, then press and hold set switch on the control switch.
3. Check brown/red wire at speed control switch connector for voltage.
4. If brown/red wire has zero voltage, replace speed control switch.
5. If brown/red wire has voltage, proceed as follows:
a. Release set button, then disconnect engine controller 60-way connector.
b. Inspect cavity nine for properly installed brown/red wire, repair connector as necessary and re-test.
c. If cavity nine is satisfactory, with key On and set switch off, test cavity nine for voltage.
d. If cavity nine has voltage, replace engine controller.
e. If cavity nine does not have voltage, repair open circuit of brown/red wire between engine controller and control switch.
