2 Checking For Fault Code 34
1. With the diagnostic readout box connected to the engine harness connector, place key in the Run position.2. Listen for servo to click as speed control switch is moved On and Off several times.
3. If servo does not click, proceed to step 11. If servo clicks, turn key off, then disconnect engine controller 60-way connector.
4. Inspect cavity 53 of 60-way connector for properly installed tan/red wire, repair the connector as necessary and re-test.
5. If cavity 53 of 60-way connector is satisfactory, turn key and speed control On and check tan/red wire in cavity 53 for voltage.
6. If cavity 53 has voltage, check cavity 60 for a properly installed light green/red wire. Repair connector as necessary and re-test.
7. If cavity 53 does not have voltage, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect speed control servo 4-way connector, inspect 4-way connector and repair as necessary.
b. Test tan/red wire for continuity between 60-way connector and 14-way connector.
c. If tan/red wire has under ten ohms, replace speed control servo.
d. If tan/red wire is not under ten ohms, repair open circuit between controller and servo connector of light green/red wire.
8. If cavity 60 of 60-way connector is satisfactory, test cavity 60 for voltage.
9. If cavity 60 has battery voltage, replace engine controller.
10. If cavity 60 does not have battery voltage, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect speed control servo 4-way connector, inspect 4-way connector and repair as necessary.
b. Test light green/red wire for continuity between 60-way connector and 14-way connector.
c. If light green/red wire has under ten ohms, replace speed control servo.
d. If light green/red wire is not under ten ohms, repair open circuit between controller and servo connector of light green/red wire.
11. If servo does not click, disconnect speed control servo 4-way connector, inspect 4-way connector and repair as necessary.
12. With the speed control switch and ignition switch On, test dark blue/red wire at servo connector for voltage.
13. If dark blue/red wire has voltage, proceed as follows:
a. Test black wire for continuity to ground.
b. If black wire has under ten ohms, replace speed control servo.
c. If black wire is not under ten ohms, repair open circuit in black ground wire.
d. If dark blue/red wire does not have voltage, proceed as follows:
14. Test dark blue/red wire at brake switch for voltage.
15. If dark blue/red wire has voltage, repair open circuit in dark blue/red wire between brake switch and servo.
16. If dark blue/red wire does not have voltage, test yellow/red wire at brake switch for voltage. If voltage is not present, repair open circuit in yellow/red wire between brake switch and servo.
17. If yellow/red wire has voltage, check brake switch for proper adjustment.
18. If properly adjusted, replace brake lamp switch and re-test.
19. If not properly adjusted, adjust switch and re-test.
