POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION
Faulty ignition/restricted exhaust Check exhaust system for restrictions, check ignition timing, vacuum advance for correct settings, refer to IGNITION SYSTEMS

Vacuum leaks Check carburetor and intake manifold for leaks, check all vacuum hoses for leaks, replace faulty gaskets, retorque manifold and carburetor, refer to SPECIFICATIONS for torque values

Accelerator pump Check for dirt in accelerator pump circuit, mis-aimed pump jets, inoperative pump, misadjusted pump linkage, clean, adjust as necessary, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES

Inoperative secondaries Check for sticking secondary throttle valves/air valves, lubricate as necessary, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

Incorrect idle speed/mixture Set idle mixture and idle speed to specification, check fuel pump output pressure, check float level, refer to TESTING PROCEDURES, and ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES
