Thermal Ignition Distributor Control (TIDC) Valve Test
Thermal Ignition Distributor Control (TIDC) Valve:
1. Check vacuum hoses for correct routing and valve installation, and that they are all in good physical condition.
2. Make sure engine temperature is below 225°F, disconnect vacuum harness from valve.
3. Connect a hand-operated vacuum pump to the top port of the valve and apply vacuum.
4. If valve does not hold vacuum, then it is defective and needs to be replaced.
5. If it holds vacuum then the valve is functional.
