Rear Seat Belts
Left Shoulder Belt & Quick Disconnect Coupler:
Shoulder Belt Lower Anchor Bolt:
REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT/BUCKLE REMOVAL
If the front passenger seat is temporarily being removed from the vehicle, the shoulder belt can be separated from the upper anchor via the quick-disconnect coupler.
1. Remove the cover concealing the shoulder belt upper anchor bolt.
2. Remove the upper anchor bolt, belt and antirattle washer from the body side panel.
3. Raise the cover for access to the shoulder belt lower anchor bolt.
4. Remove the belt lower anchor bolt from the seat frame.
5. Separate the cover, rear belt-end and anchor from the seat frame.
6. Raise the seat skirt and separate the front belt lower anchor plate from the seat frame.
Shoulder Belt Buckle & Lap Belts/Buckles:
7. Raise the seat skirt and remove the shoulder belt buckle anchor bolt from the seat frame.
8. Separate the buckle from the lap belt buckle and the seat frame.
9. Remove the shoulder belt and buckle from the vehicle.
INSPECTION
Inspect the condition of the shoulder belt and buckle. Replace any belt or buckle that is either cut, frayed, torn or damaged in any way. Also, replace the shoulder belt if the quick-disconnect coupler is either damaged or inoperative.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the anti-rattle washer and the upper end of the shoulder belt at the body upper side panel with the anchor bolt holes aligned.
2. Install the upper anchor bolt in the body side panel. Tighten the upper anchor bolt with 40 Nm (350 in. lbs.) torque.
3. Position the cover over the upper anchor bolt.
4. Position the front belt lower anchor plate, rear belt, anchor and cover at the seat frame with the anchor bolt holes aligned.
5. Install the anchor bolt in the seat platform. Tighten the bolt with 40 Nm (350 in. lbs.) torque.
6. Position the shoulder belt buckle at the seat frame, mate it with the lap belt buckle, and align the anchor bolt holes.
7. Install the anchor bolt in the seat frame. Tighten the bolt with 40 Nm (350 in. lbs.) torque.
Shoulder Belt Buckle & Lap Belts/Buckles:
Rear Seat Without Shoulder Belt:
REAR SEAT LAP BELTS/BUCKLES REMOVAL
1. Raise the seat skirt and remove the lap belt/ buckle anchor bolt from the seat frame.
2. Separate the lap belt/buckle from the seat frame.
3. Remove the lap belt/buckle from the vehicle.
INSPECTION
Inspect the condition of the lap belt/buckle. Replace any belt or buckle that is either cut, frayed, torn or damaged in any way.
INSTALLATION
1. Raise the seat skirt and position the lap belt/buckle at the seat frame with the anchor bolt holes aligned.
2. Install the lap belt/buckle anchor bolt in the seat frame. Tighten the anchor bolt with 40 Nm (350 in. lbs.) torque.
