Headliners:

Headliner-to-Header Panel/Roof Bow Attachments:

Ram Van and Wagon headliners are comprised of three sections. The headliner sections and the trim mouldings/panels are attached to the front/ rear header panels and the roof bows (crossmembers) with screws. The headliner sections are attached to the side roof panels with clips.

To remove a headliner, all of the overlapping and interfering trim mouldings/panels must be removed along with (as applicable):

- dome/cargo lamp,
- map/reading lamp,
- sunvisors,
- coat hanger hook,
- assist handle, and
- any other overlapping and/or interfering attached component.

CAUTION: Headliners are molded hard-board. They have limited flexibility and must not be bent during removal/installation because, otherwise, permanent damage possibly will result.
REMOVAL

REMOVAL

Dome/Cargo Lamp:

Map/Reading Lamp:

1. As applicable, remove the dome/cargo lamps and/or the map/reading lamp from the roof bows/crossmembers.
2. Remove the sunvisors and the visor retaining clips from the windshield header trim panel.
3. Remove the retaining screws and the coat hanger hooks.
4. If equipped, remove the retaining screws and the assist handle.
5. Remove the retaining screws, pry gently and remove the windshield header trim panel from the header panel.
6. Remove the retaining screws, pry gently and remove the front door header trim panels from the header panel. If necessary refer to the removal procedure.
7. Remove the retaining screws, pry gently and remove the side cargo door header trim panel from the header panel.
8. Remove the retaining screws, pry gently and remove the upper side trim panels from the body side panels at both sides of the vehicle.
9. Remove the retaining screws, pry gently and remove the rear cargo door header trim panel from the header panel.
10. Remove the retaining screws, pry gently and remove the roof bow trim moulding from all of the roof crossmembers.

Headliner Removal/Installation:

11. Carefully detach each headliner section from the body side clip retainers and remove from the roof and the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Carefully position the each headliner section in the vehicle adjacent to the roof panel.
2. Attach each headliner section to the body side clip retainers.
3. Position the roof bow trim moulding at all the roof crossmembers and install the retaining screws. Tighten the screws with 1 Nm (12 in. lbs.) torque.
4. Install the:
- rear cargo door header trim panel;
- upper side trim panels;
- side cargo door header trim panel;
- front door header trim panels; and
- windshield header trim panel.
5. If necessary, refer to the installation removal procedures. Tighten the trim panel screws with 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) torque. Avoid overtightening the screws.
6. Install the:
- assist handle (if equipped);
- coat hanger hooks; and
- sunvisors and visor retaining clips.
7. Tighten the screws with 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) torque. Avoid over-tightening the screws.

Dome/Cargo Lamp:

8. As applicable, install the dome/cargo lamps and/or the map/reading lamp from the roof bows/crossmembers. If necessary, refer to the installation procedure(s).

Dome/Cargo Lamp:

DOME/CARGO LAMP REMOVAL
1. Remove the dome lamp lens by forcing it forward to disengage the rear hook retainers, and then downward from the bezel.
2. Remove the bezel retaining screws from the roof crossmember brackets.
3. Detach the bulb holder tabs from the bezel.
4. Remove the bezel from the headliner opening.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the dome/cargo lamp bezel in the headliner opening and insert the bulb holder tabs in the bezel.
2. Align the bezel screw holes with the bracket screw holes.
3. Install the bezel retaining screws in the brackets. Tighten the screws with 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) torque.
4. Install the lamp lens.

Map/Reading Lamp:

MAP/READING LAMP REMOVAL
1. Remove the lamp housing retaining screws from the support bracket.
2. Disconnect the lamp wire harness connectors.
3. Remove the lamp housing from the bracket and headliner.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the lamp housing at the headliner opening.
2. Connect the lamp wire harness connectors.
3. Align the lamp housing screw holes with the bracket screw holes and install the retaining screws. Tighten the screws with 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) torque.
