Carpet: Service and Repair

Carpets, Mats & Scuff Plates:





SERVICE INFORMATION
The carpets/mats are retained around the perimeter of the floor panel by the interior trim mouldings, trim panels and scuff plates.

To remove a carpet/mat, all of the retaining trim mouldings and panels must be removed along with all the overlapping and interfering components (as applicable):

- the seats;
- the scuff plates;

Transmission Shift Mechanism:





- the transmission floor shift levers, bezels and boots;
- the engine cover; and
- all other interfering attached components.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the protective floor mats (if equipped).
2. Remove trim panels and all the overlapping and interfering components.

Front Door Carpet/Mat Scuff Plate:





3. Remove the retaining screws and the front door carpet/mat scuff plates.
4. Remove the engine cover. If necessary, refer to the removal procedure.

Side Cargo Door Carpet/Mat Scuff Plates:





5. Remove the retaining screws and the side cargo door carpet/mat scuff plate.

Rear Cargo Door Carpet/Mat Scuff Plate:





6. Remove the retaining screws and the rear cargo door carpet/mat scuff plate.
7. Remove the carpets/mats from the floor panel.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the carpets/mats on the floor panel.
2. Install the trim panels. If necessary, refer to the installation procedures.
3. Install the scuff plates and the retaining screws. Tighten the retaining screws with 1 Nm (12 in. lbs.) torque.
4. Install the engine cover.
5. Install seat and all the components that were removed to facilitate carpet/mat removal.
6. Place the protective floor mats (if equipped) on the carpet/mat.
