Fuel Gauge Sender: Testing and Inspection

Instrument Cluster IG & FU Terminal Locations:

1. Remove fuel sender unit from fuel tank.
2. Using an ohmmeter check resistance of fuel sender unit at full, half full and empty positions, Fig. 3. At full position resistance should be approximately 1 to 5 ohms. At half full, resistance should be approximately 28.5 to 36.5 ohms. At empty, resistance should be approximately 103 to 117 ohms. If resistance is not with in limits, replace fuel sender unit.
3. Install fuel sender unit on fuel tank.
