Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection
1. With the starter disconnected check to see whether fuel pump relay clicks when the ignition key is turned to the START position.
2. Inspect relay continuity as follows:
a. Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2. Replace relay if resistance is not 70-90 ohms.
b. Check that there is no continuity between terminals 1 and 3, 1 and 4, 1 and 3 or between terminals 2 and 4. If continuity exists replace relay.
3. Inspect relay operation as follows:
a. Apply battery voltage between terminals 1 and 2.
b. Ensure continuity exists between terminals 3 and 4. If continuity does not exist replace relay.
