Troubleshooting


1. If coolant temperature is below 176°F, proceed as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch On and ensure cooling fan is is not operating.
b. If the fan motor is operating, a faulty fan relay and/or thermo control switch is indicated. Check for separated electrical connectors or severed wire between relay and thermo control switch.
c. Disconnect thermo control switch wire, then check if fan rotates.
d. If fan does not rotate, check fan relay, ignition relay and fuse. Check for short circuit between fan relay and thermo control switch.
e. Connect thermo control switch wire.
2. If coolant temperature is above 212°F, ensure fan rotates. If fan does not rotate, replace thermo control switch.
