Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect electrical connector from coolant temperature sender unit, then connect a 12 volt 3.4 watt test lamp between the electrical connector and ground.
2. Place ignition switch in the On position. Test lamp should be illuminated and coolant temperature gauge needle rise gradually.
3. On Charade models, remove instrument cluster and check resistance between terminals IG and TU, Fig. 6. Resistance should be approximately 139 ohms.
4. On Charade models, with electrical connector connected to instrument cluster, ensure battery voltage is applied between terminal IG and body ground.
