Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to DOHC Engine Mechanical.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector at the knock sensor (KS).




4. Remove the KS.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the KS.

Tighten
Tighten the knock sensor bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).




2. Connect the electrical connector at the KS.
3. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to DOHC Engine Mechanical.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
