Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner housing.
2.1 Disconnect the hose to the intake manifold.
2.2 Remove the air cleaner housing retaining bolts.
2.3 Lift out the housing.

3. Discharge and recover the refrigerant.
4. Release the connector lock and pull the transducer wire connector out.




5. Remove the transducer with a wrench.
6. Discard the O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the new O-ring seal on the transducer.
2. Install the transducer.

Tighten
Tighten the pressure transducer to 10 Nm (89 lb.in).

3. Install the wire connector.




4. Install the air cleaner housing assembly.
4.1 Seat the housing in its place with the pick-up tube in the hole provided.
4.2 Install the air cleaner housing assembly retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the air cleaner housing assembly retaining bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb.in).

4.3 Connect the tube to the intake manifold.

5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
