Wheel Speed Sensor Jumper Harness
Removal Procedure1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the electronic brake control module (EBCM) from its retaining clamp.
3. Disconnect connector J1 (24-pin connector) from the EBCM.
4. Remove the appropriate terminals from connector J1:
- Right side - terminals B3 (BRN) and A4 (DK GRN).
- Left side - terminals B4 (YEL) and A5 (LT BLU).
5. Open the wiring harness that passes through the fire wall. Both speed sensor harnesses break out just inside the engine compartment. The right-side speed sensor harness crosses the top of the fire wall to the right-side fender area. The left-side speed sensor harness goes directly to the left-side fender area.
6. Free the speed sensor harness from the wiring harness.
7. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
8. Remove the wheel.
9. Turn the steering wheel to expose the speed sensor. It is located at the rear of the steering knuckle near the tie rod end.
10. Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
11. Remove the jumper harness clamp on the strut and pull the jumper harness through the body.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the front wheel speed sensor jumper harness. Route the harness through the body and secure the clamp on the strut.
2. Connect the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
3. Replace the wheel.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Replace the jumper harness into the wiring harness and route it through the fire wall into the vehicle interior at the EBCM.
6. Insert the terminals into connector J1 as they had been removed:
- Right side -terminals B3 (BRN) and A4 (DK GRN).
- Left side - terminals B4 (YEL) and A5 (LT BLU).
7. Connect EBCM connector J1.
8. Replace the EBCM into its mounting. Refer to "Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)".
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
