DTC A055: EBCM Malfunction

EBCM MALFUNCTION





Circuit Description
This DTC identifies a malfunction detected by the MDI custom IC. It also insures that the cause of the malfunction is not a result of a problem with the enable relay under a DTC A055 malfunction.

Diagnosis
This test checks for a failure of the electronic brake control module (EBCM) internal circuitry. It also performs fail-safe diagnostics.

Cause(s)
- The EBCM is faulty.

Fail Action
The EBCM will not operate properly and ABS is unpredictable. ABS is therefore disabled and the ABS warning lamp is turned on. The brake warning lamp is turned in the rear piston is not at the top of the bore, since this could cause degradation of the base brakes.

Test Description
The number(s) below refer to step(s) on the diagnostic table.
1. This checks to see if the malfunction is still present.
2. This step checks to see if the malfunction is intermittent.

Diagnostic Aids
Check the frequency of the malfunction by using the enhanced diagnostic function of the scan tool as described in "Scan Tool Diagnostics." Scan Tool Diagnostics
