Engine Block Heater: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION

CAUTION:
The power cord must be secured in its retainer clips, and not positioned so it could contact linkages or exhaust manifolds and become damaged.

The 2.4L block heater (2) is mounted in a core hole (in place of a core hole plug) in the engine block, with the heating element immersed in coolant.

The 3.6L has an optional engine block heater (2) that is available with all models. The heater is equipped with a power cord. The heater warms the engine providing easier engine starting and faster warm-up in low temperatures. The heater is mounted in a core hole of the engine cylinder block.
