Convertible - Manual Closing







MANUAL CLOSING

WARNING:
Closing the Retractable Hard Top (RHT), or the Convertible soft Top (CST) with the vehicles side windows up can create a pinch point. Failure to lower the windows before closing the top could result in personal injury or vehicle damage





1. Lower all side glass if not already down.

2. Using the tonneau power switch, manually activate the tonneau drive motor to the fully retracted position.

3. Verify the header latches opened completely, if OK proceed to step 6. If not OK perform steps 4 and 5.

CAUTION:
Manual operation of the Header latching Mechanism will result in damage to the latching motor, when this occurs both the motor assembly and the shaft retaining clips must be replaced.





4. Remove windshield header trim. Body Side Molding - Removal.

5. Using a 1/4" 8 point socket, rotate the shaft clockwise (2) and unlatch the header latching mechanism (3).

6. Perform steps 1-5 of the decklid service position procedure. Procedures





7. Ensure the hydraulic pump valve is open.

8. (RHT only) Inspect the panel to panel latching hooks (2), if they are exposed perform steps 9 and 10. If the latching hooks are positioned under the headliner (1) proceed to step 11.

9. Partially remove the headliner to gain access to the panel to panel latching mechanism.





10. Insert tool in center hex (4) and rotate latching mechanism (3) counter clockwise (1) to release the latches.

WARNING:
The convertible top mechanism has several pinch points; ensure hands are clear during manual operation of the convertible top. Failure to do so may result in serious injury.

11. With the help of an assistant, grasp the front corners of the top and carefully lift the top up and out of the trunk.





12. Use the power switch to move the tonneau to the retracted position.

13. Verify the tonneau is completely retracted, if OK proceed to step 16. If not OK perform steps 14 and 15.

14. Verify the decklid is in the service position, remove the retaining clip (1) and pry the retractable tonneau linkage arm (2) from the pin on the screw drive.





15. Secure the tonneau in the retracted position (1).

16. Partially remove the left and right center rail trim as necessary.

17. (RHT only) Close the panel to panel latching system by rotating the center mechanism.

18. Close the header latches.

19. Remove the prop rod and lower the decklid from the service position.

20. Pull up on both deckbar cylinder's until they have reached the cylinder stops. As the cable assembly moves with the cylinder the deckbar latches will engage securing the deckbar.

21. Close the hydraulic pump valve and close the decklid.
