Headliner - Removal







REMOVAL

Special Tools:











NOTE:
In the event the headliner is damaged or creased during removal, it will need to be replaced with a new headliner.

NOTE:
Please use clean gloves or ensure hands are clean before removing.

1. Remove the windshield, Windshield - Removal.





2. Remove the sun visors, Visor - Removal

3. Remove sun visor supports, Visor - Removal

4. Remove reading lamp, Reading Lamp - Removal

5. If equipped, remove dome lamp.

6. Remove glove box from instrument panel, Instrument Panel Glove Box - Removal

7. Remove right and left A-pillar trim, A-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal

8. Remove door sill trim, Scuff Plate - Removal

9. Remove right and left upper B-pillar trim, B-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal

10. Remove front/rear assist handles and/or coat hooks.

11. Remove driver and passenger upper C-pillar quarter trim, as necessary, C-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal

NOTE:
Push pin is not reusable.

12. Using (C-4829A), disengage headliner rear push pins (3) holding headlining to roof above rear window





13. Disconnect the sunroof module electrical connector (2), if equipped.





14. Pull down on headliner around sun roof to disengage headliner (2) if equipped.





15. Slowly, drop headliner (2) onto instrument panel.





16. Reach through glove box and disconnect headliner electrical connector (2) along A-pillar.





NOTE:
Please make certain all terminal locations are noted before removal.

17. Back out terminals from connector (1).

18. Pull headliner harness through A-pillar opening.

19. Pull down on the rear of the map lamp and sun roof switch to disengage clips from roof panel, if equipped.

NOTE:
Cover the floor of vehicle with a dirt free protective sheet of paper or plastic to prevent dirt from soiling headliner.

20. With the help of an assistant, lower headliner down and remove through the windshield opening.
