Rear Door Carrier Plate - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Raise the window to it's fully up position.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Remove the rear door trim, Rear Door Trim Panel - Removal.





4. Remove the cover from the access hole (2).
5. Temporarily install the window switch pod, reconnect the negative battery cable and lower the window until the white regulator tab is visible in the access hole (2).
6. With the help of an assistant holding the glass, release the window regulator tab and lift the window up.
7. Secure the window glass into place with a wedge or tape.
8. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the window switch pod.
9. Disconnect the door harness from the vehicle body harness.





10. Open the latch access panel (3).
11. Remove the screws (2) from the harness grommet/bracket (1).
12. Remove the harness grommet/bracket (1) from the door.





13. Remove the exterior door handle, Rear Exterior Door Handle - Removal.
14. Remove the rear door latch screws (1).





15. Remove the seven carrier plate bolts (2).
16. Disengage the four carrier plate torx head retainers (1).
17. Remove the carrier plate (3) from the rear door.
18. If servicing the latch, separate the presenter and the latch from the carrier plate.
