Rear Center





REAR CENTER

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury during and following any seat belt or child restraint anchor service, carefully inspect all seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps, and anchors for proper installation, operation, or damage. Replace any belt that is cut, frayed, or torn. Straighten any belt that is twisted. Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any belt that has a damaged or ineffective buckle or retractor. Replace any belt that has a bent or damaged latch plate or anchor plate. Replace any child restraint anchor or the unit to which the anchor is integral that has been bent or damaged. Never attempt to repair a seat belt or child restraint component. Always replace damaged or ineffective seat belt and child restraint components with the correct, new and unused replacement parts listed in the Chrysler Mopar(R) Parts Catalog.






NOTE: The left outboard rear seating position buckle is integral to the center rear seating position seat belt and retractor lower anchor.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle. Seat Cushion Cover - Removal.
3. Remove the nut (5) that secures the rear center seat belt (8) lower anchor and the left outboard seating position buckle anchor to the stud (6) on the center floor panel (7).
4. Remove the seat belt and buckle anchors from the stud.
5. Disengage the seat belt trim cover (1) from the rear shelf panel trim opening.
6. Remove the trim from the rear shelf panel (4). Rear Shelf Panel - Removal.
7. Remove the nut (2) that secures the retractor (3) to the stud on the rear shelf panel.
8. Lift the retractor from the stud and disengage the T-tab on the retractor bracket from the T-slot in the rear shelf panel.
9. Remove the seat belt (8) and retractor from the vehicle as a unit.
