THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL (RRT) 12-027. ALL APPLICABLE SOLD AND UN-SOLD RRT VIN's HAVE BEEN LOADED. TO VERIFY THAT THIS RRT SERVICE ACTION IS APPLICABLE TO THE VEHICLE, USE VIP OR PERFORM A VIN SEARCH IN TECHCONNECT. ALL REPAIRS ARE REIMBURSABLE WITHIN THE PROVISIONS OF WARRANTY.

SUBJECT:
Loss Of Communications With HFM

OVERVIEW:
This Bulletin involves replacement of the Hands Free Module (HFM).

MODELS:

2012 (LD) Charger

2012 (LX) 300

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built between January 27, 2012 (MDH 0127XX) and January 31, 2012 (MDH 0131XX). With Sales code (RSP) UConnect, Voice Command W/Bluetooth.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer may experience no response from the voice recognition button on the steering wheel or they will not be able to enter into the phone screen on the radio.

The condition is caused by the HFM not communicating.

DIAGNOSIS:
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Follow the procedure in TechCONNECT for proper removal and installation of the HFM, Go to Service Info in TechCONNECT, then go to 08 - Electrical/8E - Electronic Control Modules/MODULE, Hands Free/Removal and Installation.

POLICY:
Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
