HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF
THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.

THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 12.02 OR HIGHER TO
PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

SUBJECT:
Flash: 300 "S" Cluster Logo Present On Non-300S Vehicles

OVERVIEW:
This Bulletin involves flashing the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).

MODELS:

2012 (LX) 300

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built between December 5, 2011 (MDH 1205XX) and February 9, 2012 (MDH 0209XX) equipped with a Beats Audio System, Sales code (AA5), 10 Premium speakers W/Subwoofer (RCP) and engines 3.6 (ERB) or 5.7 (EZH).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
If a customer has a 300C or 300 Limited it may displays a 300 "S" on the splash screen in the EVIC at start-up.

Issue surfaced when Beats audio was expanded from 300S only to be available also on the 300 Limited and 300 C vehicles.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

NOTE:
Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process.

NOTE:
If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.

1. Use the wiTECH Diagnostic Application to reflash the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Help using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application for flashing the IPC is made available through the wiTECH Diagnostic Application. For instructions select the "HELP" tab on upper portion of the wiTECH window, then "HELP CONTENTS." This will open the Welcome to wiTECH Help screen where help topics can be selected.

2. After the flash has been performed turn ignition switch off.

NOTE:
This will allow the active codes to become stored.

3. Turn ignition switch on.

4. Clear any DTC's that may have been set in all modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.
