Vented Seat Switch - Operation
OPERATION
When either of the front vented seat switches located in the U-Connect Touch (TM) screen module are pressed with the engine running, a request signal is sent to the Heated Seat Module (HSM) (also know as the comfort seat wheel module), over the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus. The HSM then provides variable analog voltages that drive the two 12 volt Direct Current (DC) motors, located in each front ventilated seat. There are three settings for each vented seat; off, HI and LO. Pressing a vented seat switch once will select HI. Pressing the same switch a second time will select LO. Pressing the switch a third time will shut the vented seat motors off.
The vented seat system is diagnosed using a scan tool Testing and Inspection.
The individual front vented seat switches located in the U-Connect Touch (TM) screen module cannot be adjusted or repaired. If a front vented seat switch or indicator is inoperative or damaged, the entire U-Connect Touch (TM) screen module must be replaced.
