SUBJECT:
Dual Pane Sunroof Windnoise
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves adjusting the rear dual pane sunroof gap and flush to eliminate the windnoise condition.

NOTE:
This bulletins applies to vehicles equipped with sales code (GWJ) Power Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof built after September 01, 2011 (MDH0901XX) and before September 30, 2011 (MDH0931XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Dual pane sunroof windnoise.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Set the front of the rear glass panel gap to 3.5 mm - 4.0 mm (0.14 in. to 0.16 in).
2. Set the rear of the rear glass panel over flush 0.0 mm to 2.5 mm (0.0 in. to 0.10 in).
3. Set the front of the rear glass panel flush to under flush 2.5 mm (0.10 in).
4. Open the sunshade fully.
5. Verify the sunroof glass panel is in the fully closed position.
6. Loosen the attaching screws on each side of the rear glass panel enough to permit adjustment of the glass gap and flush.
NOTE:
Use shims to maintain gap during the flush adjustments.
7. Adjust the front edge of the rear glass gap 3.5 mm (0.12 in.) min to 4.0 mm (0.16 in.) max.
8. Adjust the rear surface of the rear sunroof glass panel 0.00 mm to 2.5 mm (0.00 in. to 0.10 in.) above the top surface of the roof.
9. Tighten the rear screws of the rear glass panel to 4.5 N-m (40 in. lbs.).
10. Check for proper fit. If not OK, repeat glass panel adjustment.
11. Adjust the front surface of the rear sunroof glass panel 0.00 mm to 2.5 mm (0.00 in. to 0.10 in.) below the top surface of the front glass.
12. Tighten the remaining rear glass panel attaching screws to 4.5 N-m (40 in.lbs).
13. Verify sunroof operation and alignment.
