Sunroof Motor - Removal






REMOVAL

SINGLE PANE SUNROOF

WARNING: Do not attempt to move or reposition the sunroof glass panel or drive cables with the sunroof motor and module unit removed. Damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof or personal injuries may result.

WARNING: The Sunroof Motor And Module Initialization procedure must be completed any time a sunroof motor and module unit is replaced with a new component. Failure to perform this procedure may result in damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof or in serious or fatal injuries. Programming and Relearning .





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the overhead console from the headliner (1). Overhead Console - Removal.
3. Reach through the opening in the headliner bracket (5) for the overhead console to access the sunroof motor and module unit (4).
4. Remove the three screws (2) that secure the motor and module to the sunroof frame.
5. Lower the motor and module unit through the headliner bracket opening far enough to access and disconnect the sunroof wire harness connector from the motor and module connector receptacle (3).
6. Remove the sunroof motor and module unit from the vehicle.

DUAL PANE SUNROOF OR SUNSHADE

WARNING: Do not attempt to move or reposition the sunroof glass panel, the sunshade or the drive cables with the sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit removed. Damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof or personal injuries may result.

WARNING: The Sunroof Panel Calibration procedure and the Sunroof Motor And Module Initialization procedure must be completed any time a sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit is replaced with a new component. Failure to perform these procedures may result in damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof, to the sunshade or in serious or fatal injuries. Programming and Relearning .





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Lower the headliner from the inner roof panel (1). Headliner - Removal.
3. Disconnect the sunroof wire harness connector (3) from the sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit (4) connector receptacle (2).
4. Remove the three screws (2) that secure the motor and module unit to the sunroof frame.
5. Remove the sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit from the vehicle.
