Sagging And/Or Gap Between Rear Shelf Silencer And Shelf Panel
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting the rear shelf lower silencer pad for a sagging condition and if necessary installing an additional push pin type retaining clip to eliminate the gap or sag condition.

2011-2012 (LD) Dodge Charger
2011-2012 (LX) Chrysler 300
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may notice a gap and/or sagging condition between the rear shelf silencer pad and rear shelf panel visible from the luggage compartment or when folding down the rear seat backs.
PARTS REQUIRED:
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
DIAGNOSIS:
1. Fold down both rear seat backs.
2. Inspect the rear shelf silencer for a gap or sagging condition between the silencer pad and rear shelf panel (Fig. 1).
3. Was a gap or sagging condition present?
Yes >>> Perform the Repair Procedure.
No >>> This bulletin does not apply.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Using an awl or drill create a 1/4~(6.5mm) hole (1) in the rear shelf silencer panel (2) in line with the hole located in the rear shelf body panel (3) (Fig. 2).
2. Install the push pin retaining clip (4) through the hole created in the rear shelf silencer panel(1)(Fig. 2).
3. Align the clip with the hole in the rear shelf body panel (3) and fully seat the push pin retaining clip into the hole in the rear shelf body panel (Fig. 2).
