Instrument Panel Glove Box - Removal






REMOVAL

GLOVE BOX MODULE





1. Remove the right side instrument panel end cap.
2. Remove the right side instrument panel silencer (2) and disconnect the LED harness (1), Silencer Panel - Removal.





3. Open the glove box door (3).
4. Remove the two side screws (2) from the glove box compartment (1).
5. Remove the six screws from the glove box compartment (1).
6. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the glove box compartment (1).

DOOR





1. Open the glove box bin (1).
2. Push in on both sides of glove box bin to disengage the glove box stops (2) and lower the bin.
3. Pivot the glove box bin downward and disengage the glove box hinge hooks (3) from the instrument panel hinge brackets (4) located at each end of the bin.





4. Turn the glove box bin (1) sideways and remove the support strap and retainer assembly (2) from the outboard end of the bin.
5. Remove the glove box bin from the vehicle.

LOCK CYLINDER





1. Prior to removal, place masking tape (1) or equivalent around the perimeter of the lock cylinder (2).
2. Insert the key (3) into the lock cylinder (2) and turn the key into the locked position.
3. Insert a small flat bladed screwdriver (4) into the opening between the lock cylinder (2) and bezel at the "6 o'clock position".
4. Apply downward pressure on the screwdriver (4) while turning the key clockwise approximately 45°.





5. Remove the lock cylinder (1), key (2) and screwdriver (3) together.
