Hinge - Removal






REMOVAL

Special Tools:










1. Open the vehicle trunk.
2. Remove the spare tire cover/trunk floor carpet from the spare tire well.
3. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable.
4. Remove the decklid bumper (1). Repeat for the other side.





5. Remove the hinge trim push-in fasteners (2) and remove the hinge trim (1). If necessary, repeat for the opposite side.






NOTE: The manual trunk release handle (2) must be routed through the deck lid insulator.

6. Remove the push-in retainers (3) securing the deck lid insulator (1) to the decklid.





7. Disconnect and detach the vehicle to lightbar harness (1) from the decklid.





8. Pull the RH rear seat back (1) forward, exposing the luggage compartment. Repeat for the opposite side.
9. Behind the RH rear seat, pull the carpet tab (5) up, exposing the rear seat back side bolster bracket retaining bolt (4). Repeat for the opposite side.
10. Remove the RH rear seat back side bolster bracket bolt (4). Repeat for the opposite side.
11. Remove the push-in fasteners (3) that secure the trunk side trim. Repeat for the opposite side.





12. Using a trim stick (2) or equivalent, push down between the rear shelf and the RH rear seat back bolster (1) to release the retaining clip, and pull out on the seat back bolster (1) to remove. Repeat for the opposite side.






NOTE: RH shown, LH typical.

13. Remove the cargo net hook screw (1) and upper cargo hook (2).
14. Remove the push-in retainer (3) that secures the wheel well cover trim.
15. Remove the cargo net lower hooks (5).
16. Carefully pull back the wheel well cover enough to disconnect the trunk lamp (4) harness connector, and remove the wheel well cover trim.
17. Remove the wheel well cover trim from the trunk/cargo area.





18. Remove the decklid spring, Decklid Spring - Removal
19. Using a china marker/paint pen or equivalent, draw reference marks where the hinge (2) attaches to the decklid (1).
20. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts attaching the hinge (2) to the decklid (1).
21. Remove the decklid (1).





22. Using a trim stick or equivalent, remove the quarter trim panel (2). Repeat on the opposite side.





23. Remove the push pin fastener (1) securing the package tray trim panel (2). Repeat on opposite side.
24. Pull the package tray trim panel (2) forward to disengage the retaining clip.
25. Position the package tray trim panel (2) away from the package tray.





26. Remove the bolt (1) and the nut (2) securing the hinge to the package tray.
27. Remove the hinge from the vehicle.
