Front Door Carrier Plate - Removal






REMOVAL





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the front door trim (3), Front Door Trim Panel - Removal.





3. Open the latch access panel located on the carrier plate near the lock rod assembly.
4. Remove the clear adhesive patch covering the front window regulator access hole located just behind the electronic door module. If the clear adhesive patch is not present, there will be an indented area in the same location that will need to be cut out.
5. Temporarily install the window switch pod, reconnect the negative battery cable and lower the window until the white regulator tabs are visible in both access holes.
6. With the help of an assistant holding the glass, release the front and rear window regulator tabs and lift the window up.
7. Secure the window glass into place with a wedge or tape.
8. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the window switch pod.





9. Remove the front door latch mounting screws (1).





10. Remove the front door harness wiring (1) bracket from the front of the door.





11. Disconnect the front door wiring harness (2) from all door carrier motors, modules, sensors and the latch.
12. Remove the front door wiring harness (2) from the front door carrier plate (3).
13. If necessary, disconnect the link rods from the rear of the exterior handle assembly (5) through the access plate in the carrier plate.
14. Remove the five carrier plate bolts (1).
15. Disengage the six carrier plate torx head retainers (4).
16. Remove the carrier plate (3) from the front door.
17. If servicing the latch, separate the presenter and the latch from the carrier plate.
